UPDATE: Summer Weather Outlook
For those in the thick of outdoor events season, our friends at DTN have provided an updated Summer Outlook Update for GCMA members, offering a month-ahead view of expected weather patterns across the UK and wider Europe. For the first half of July, the outlook suggests conditions will remain warmer than average overall, though July 1–4 is expected to be less hot than recently, with more seasonal conditions possible in Scotland and Northern Ireland. Heat is then expected to strengthen again from July 5–9, particularly across England and Wales, with temperatures above 30°C possible in central, southern and eastern parts of the UK. Conditions are generally expected to be drier than average, although western Scotland and Northern Ireland may see occasional rain, and thunderstorm risks remain possible, especially as conditions become more changeable around July 10–14.
